My thanks to Ralph Schack for his posting re Art Sanders.  Art was and
is a true gentleman.  I have written him today.  Unfortunately I had to
give up my entire collection last year, including "Deansboro Records"
-- I had them all -- or I would gladly have sent them to him.

When we of Yesteryear Museum in Morristown, New Jersey, were forced out
of our location and had to close down in the 1970s, Art Sanders was one
of the few members of the Musical Box Society who wrote to express his
sorrow and condolences.  I was saddened myself later, as I did the same
when he had to close his museum in Deansboro.

I joined MBS in the year of its founding, 1949.  I was 13; Ruth
Bornand, a wonderful gentle-lady, very nicely arranged for me to join.
For years I was "the kid" in that marvelous group of dedicated people
who loved the music and the workmanship of music boxes.  I was honored
to join in that "founding year" but did not claim to be a founding
member.  That quite properly was reserved for the folk that actually
participated in that start-up meeting in, I think, Ohio.

I had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Deansboro Musical Museum
a number of times, either on my own or for MBS meetings which Art and
his wife hosted.  Art Sanders is one of the few people left from all
that early bunch that created and enlivened MBS and the hobby a half
century ago!  I was honored and delighted to be with them.  Most of
them are gone.  I have many wonderful memories of those early years and
the camaraderie of that group.  I wish Art all the best.
