Carl was one of the best and is greatly missed.  What I heard is that
his sizable cache of parts was purchased by someone from Southern
California.  The family told me this fellow's name happens to be Carl
as well, but they did not recall his last name.  So far, I've been
unsuccessful in locating this person.

However, I can recommend two excellent Pianocorder technicians in the
L.A. area:  Nick Morris and Randy Cox.  Contact information for both of
