Jetse de Boer
Jirnsum, Friesland, The Netherlands

[ The organ was purchased in 1910 by showman A. Koopal who operated it
[ for a total of 55 years! Originally a barrel organ built in 1890,
[ it was converted to play book music in 1930 by Carl Frei of Breda.
 [
[ Complete restoration of the organ by Henk Veeningen commenced in
[ March 2005. Jetse de Boer himself built and painted the replacement
[ facade while incorporating the original Gavioli scrollwork. Says
[ restorer Veeningen, "It is the only one of its kind in the
[ Netherlands. It has 78 keys, whereas normal [Wellershaus] is
 [ 56 to 60."
