Seek Piano Roll of "Bedelia"
By Robbie Rhodes

This urgent plea arrived by email earlier today:

Hi. I am directing a high school production of Eugene O'Neill's
masterpiece, "Ah, Wilderness," which is set on July 4, 1906. In
Act II, the young hero goes to a low dive where there is an old
player piano playing "Bedelia," and there are several lines of
dialogue about that and about the song. I cannot find _anywhere_ any
piano roll recording of Bedelia for sale or to borrow. Whatever is
available is with orchestra or band and with vocal. And of course,
the show opens tomorrow night! Can any of your members, contributors
or editors give me any assistance?
Thank you so much, Mark Gamell

I immediately sent Mark the MIDI file created by Jon Guy for his
calliope: http://www.mmdigest.com/Gallery/Sounds/bedelia.html

Now we seek a piano roll version from the era. I think I recall
hearing the song in a medley played by Mae Brown or Herman Avery Wade.
Does anybody have "Bedelia" in their piano roll collection? May we
borrow it for transcription to a MIDI file?

Robbie Rhodes, MMD
