Building Lower Cover Panel for Coinola
By Stephen Kent Goodman

My restoration shop has to deal with a couple of these early Coinola
uprights that are also missing the lower panel. One client prefers
glass, so I will be making a wooden frame covered with the quarter
sawed oak veneer and finished to match the case (with appropriate
mounting pin holes and lock at the top). The panel for the other
Coinola will be made exactly as the original wormy chestnut core,
popular banding, quarter oak veneer and maple veneer on the inside to
match interior. Only the lock hole will be drilled as well as bottom
pin holes, as client has their own original lock.

I'll be tooling up to do these hopefully before the end of the year,
so if anyone has an early Coinola missing its lower panel it would be
a simple matter to turn out several of either style.

Also, I am making an exact replica pipe reserve for a Coinola flute
piano; should anyone else need one, please contact me either through
e-mail or through my web site.
