Ed Openshaw to Activate B.A.B. Perforator Soon
By Matthew Caulfield

As many band organ people know, Ed Openshaw, of Rumney, New Hampshire,
owns the Acme perforator on which the B.A.B. Organ Company (Brooklyn,
New York) made music rolls until its demise in 1957. He also owns
many original B.A.B. music masters, those which went to Ozzie Wurdeman
when Senator Bovey purchased the B.A.B. inventory in 1958 and Ozzie
helped him move it to Virginia City/Nevada City, Montana.

Ed is seriously planning to put the Acme perforator back into operation,
probably with MIDI control, if there is enough demand for B.A.B.,
Artizan, and other 8-to-the-inch rolls to make the work economically
feasible. Further down the road Ed envisions having dies made for the
Wurlitzer .1227" spacing so that he can enter the Wurlitzer roll
market.

Unfortunately Ed is one of the few who does not have computer access,
leaving him cut off from the information stream that we have at our
command. Ed is always eager to talk band organs and music rolls with
anyone interested. His phone number is 1-603-786-9922 and his mailing
address is P.O. Box 65, Rumney, NH 03266.
