The Big "T" in "WurliTzer"
By Doug Hershberger

No one has yet mentioned the silliest -- and my vote for the most
infuriating -- corruption of the Wurlitzer trade mark. The trade
mark name is all upper case. The W and the T are simply a larger
font. While we can't produce the striding leg on the Rs we certainly
can change the font size if we must try to imitate the trade mark
version of the name WURLITZER.

The lettering on the top of my 125 band organ, which I believe to
be from approximately 1908 (serial number 2109) and believe to be
original, is WURLITZER MILITARY BAND ORGAN. The letters are all
upper case and the first letter in each word is a larger font.
