Aleene's Original Tacky Glue
By Andy Taylor

I've used Aleene's Tacky Glue for years. Whether or not it is of
the same chemical makeup as PVC-E, I do not know. I do know it behaves
in the same way that PVC-E does. I have never had any problems using
this glue.

Another good sealer is a product called Modge Podge, used for
preserving photographs. It is found in the crafts section of Wal-Mart.
Simply dilute it with water and it will seal wood 100% the first time.
I apply it in a spray gun to all internal channels and it will make a
"one footer" out of any old player if everything else is right.

In a pinch, Aleene's Tacky Glue or Modge Podge will reseal old pumping
bellows cloth, if allowed to dry in the open position. After applying
it, spray the cloth with a product called Plasti-dip (the spray can).
It makes for a beautiful finish. I limit this procedure to customers
who are too cheap to pay for new pumping cloth.

I expect that the purists to scream at me again for this, however
I have seen many old players that were rebuilt well that would die in
the winter simply because of air leaking through the pores of the wood.
