Myrtle Beach Ruth Band Organ Recordings
By Ron Keisler

Roger Desouches asked about the availability of CD recordings of the
Myrtle Beach Ruth Band organ.

Unfortunately, we are not aware that the organ has ever been profes-
sionally recorded. We have a lot of personal recordings that we've
made over the years, but nothing of great quality. All of the record-
ings that we made were years ago, before the organ was restored. Now
that the organ has been restored, it would be nice for the owners to
consider a professional recording.

I can tell you that the organ still plays the same great old songs that
it played 20-40 years ago, because my wife and I volunteered to repair
all of the old cardboard book music. Now all of the old tunes can
still be played on the organ, and there are some wonderful arrangements
in the Myrtle Beach repertoire.

[ Wasn't the Keislers' repair project on the Myrtle Beach Park music
[ books recently written up in the COAA's "Carousel Organ" or some-
[ where? Quite a labor of love.
