Today I went to the local hardware store, bought some PVC pipe and
wooden dowels, and tried to make the organ pipe you described on the
MMD website.

I tried it with a circular hole and with a D-shaped hole.  I also
attached a sharp (aluminum) piece in the hole, to give a sharper edge
on which the air can start to tremble.  Nothing worked though, and I'm
now clueless as to what to try next.

Do you happen to have some pictures of these pipes and maybe even a
soundfile, so that I know which sound to search for?
