Estey Automatic Player Pipe Organ Rolls
By Bob Taylor

Jim Crank has indeed asked some good questions about the Estey
rolls. I too had been curious about the absence of artist names
on the rolls.

At one time, I thought that I would pursue the Estey roll playing
organ. I did purchase the very special Estey Minuette organ that
looks like a grand piano. The organ I purchased did not have the
roll player, but it was an option offered. Soon I found out that
putting the player unit in the organ was not going to be an easy task.
This was primarily because there were no roll players on the market,
and very few Estey automatic rolls for the player. I abandoned the
idea of a player Estey and proceeded to acquire an Aeolian player
organ.

I just recently did some major work on the little Estey, and while
it was being dismantled I took some pictures. Keep in mind this
organ really looks like a grand piano. For the Estey organ collectors,
I posted some web pictures to detail how all the pipes fit in the
case. MMDers may find interest in these pictures posted at
