Rebuilding Chein PianoLodeon
By Rod Pringle

I have noticed several postings on MMD about the Chein PianoLodeon toy
player piano. The information has been a _big_ help. One item that
has not been covered is the process of actually removing the motor and
the plastic impeller, blower, etc.

Also, regarding replacement motors, which catalog number in the W.W.
Grainger catalog do I use to order the shaded pole C frame phono motor?
Would number 4M210 2800 RPM motor be okay? Which motor is currently
being used as a replacement in the piano overhauls? Also, how does the
rewind work in these little gems?

I have rebuilt player pianos for forty years, but this little piano
works on a whole different concept. I see no rewind mechanism at all.
How does the vacuum at the stack shut off on rewind? Who is the
current supplier of parts for these pianos? I would like their
address. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rod Pringle
