I would like to thank AMICA President John Motto-Ross for his work
toward the restoration of the Wurlitzer DX orchestrion at the Nevada
City Music Hall and for his founding of the "Adopt a Piano" program.

I think it would be more in the spirit of our hobby if this program
were expanded to include all mechanical music instruments, such as the
larger orchestrions, band organs, etc.  This would give some promise of
restoration to all the instruments in the Hall.

There are some instruments there that would not be so difficult to
restore, such as the Wurlitzer 103.  The Wurlitzer 103 stopped playing
a while ago for some reason unknown to me.  Here are the reasons why I
think this instrument qualifies to be next on the Adopt a Piano program:

1. The organ is small and naturally will not take as much to restore.

2. The organ is located next to a much larger organ, a Gavioli; so
people will notice it.  The organ is already loud, but will be much
better when in tune.

3. Wurlitzer 103's are quite popular with crowds.  Such was the case at
the Sierra Madre Band Organ Rally.
