Mechanical Music in Central Europe
By Mike Knudsen

I will soon be taking a tour through Central and Eastern Europe --
Dresden, Krakow, Prague, ending in Vienna. Well, actually ending
in Aix-au-Provence, France. And, oh yes, hopefully starting in
Amsterdam (not very Eastern, but a good place to fly to, and well
worth seeing). I might stop over in Berlin for a day or two also.

Can anyone recommend any museums, taverns, fairs, whatever with
mechanical music or organ recitals or hand-played historical
instruments in those cities? I doubt we would be able to make a side
trip to Utrecht, much as I would like to see the "Speelklok tot
Pierement" national museum. (Hmm, how far is Utrecht from Amsterdam,
anyway? Time to check a map.)

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.
