SD MIDI Controller
By Nigel Perry

I have one of these for driving my band organ. It is a superb piece
of kit, and you can put a huge number of files, in directories, on
the tiny card.

Whilst I am entirely happy with the performance of this unit, it does
have design faults. Mine is supplied ready built in its own case.
However, in order to view the screen from a distance, it has to be
mounted vertically. This then leaves the remote control IR sensor
underneath, and you have to mount a tiny mirror at 45 degrees underneath
it to enable sensible use of the remote control.

Also, the MIDI and power inputs are now on top, making it awkward to
feed the wires to. So, I would have thought that it would be better to
buy this unit in kit form so that you can configure the layout as suits
your application. If you don't feel competent to build it yourself,
buy ready-built but without a case, or ask the maker to tailor it to
your requirements. Once the guarantee on mine has run out, I will take
it apart and rearrange it.

Best wishes,
Nigel Perry
