Restoring Euphonion 15-1/2" Upright Disc Player
By Stuart Horton

I have recently subscribed to MMD and I hope someone can assist with
identifying this machine and its history. I am about to undertake a
full restoration but I cannot find coloured photos or information about
what it should look like, and I want to restore it faithfully to its
original condition.

1. The disc size is 15-1/2" diameter.

2. The glass in the door is red in colour and my wife thinks it is
"cranberry glass".

3. On the lower front right hand side of the mechanism casting are
two numbers impressed into the metal: 82. The castings have feet
which do not look like any others I have seen photos of.

4. There are no mounting holes in the side of the comb assembly to
accept damper covers and dampers, and the position of the centre
spindle is not common to other machines.

5. There are five starwheels missing from the top of the assembly,
so I will need to find somewhere to get some more.

6. I have 31 discs with the words "SCHUTZMARKE:VEDJEGY" with black
lettering below which are in various states of rusting and need
restoration. I would like advice on removing the rust without loosing
the image on the discs.

Any information regarding what the machine case should look like when
properly restored, any special advice on the restoration and history,
etc., would be appreciated. Photos are available.
