Wurlitzer Master Rolls
By Doug Hershberger

There is some evidence that Wurlitzer still had master rolls for many
various and obscure roll formats as late as the mid-1940s. Among them
are Pianino, Mortuary Organ, Organette, several Artizan scales (in
rewind and in endless formats), Treasure Chest, Apollo, and
Reproducing.

We know that the 125, 150, and 165 band organ masters, as well as APP
masters, went to Allan Herschell and then shortly thereafter to T.R.T.
But what happened to the 180 band organ masters and all those others?
Has anyone evidence or even a theory regarding the fate of these "lost"
masters? The City of North Tonawanda Incinerator is almost in the
shadow of the Wurlitzer tower, and I know it got a lot of theater organ
material. But no one works there now who would know.
