I think the answer to Brian Chester's question in the 090328 MMD about
the identity of the initials PHP is that they belong to Paul Henri
Paur.

This Frenchman went to Switzerland to learn the music box trade but
worked there more as a supplier for Geneva music box makers.  When he
returned to France, he helped Auguste L'Epée establish the French
manufacture of music boxes in Ste. Suzanne but died a few months later.

You will find a little more information on p. 293 of Arthur W.J.G. Ord-
Hume's "The Musical Box: A Guide for Collectors."  PHP made tabatière
and cartel boxes.  I have one cylinder box, #5795, with an 8-inch
cylinder, playing four tunes.  If you are interested, I can send you a
