Paper Roll vs. Computer Disk Player Pianos
By Steve Marx

Hi Gang, I'd like to open up a discussion about paper roll playing
pianos vs. disc playing pianos. I would really like people's view on
this. What makes the disc player appealing? Is it that paper rolls
are getting harder to find? I would be very interested in your views.
I myself think it's an expensive CD player.

I have two CDs, one of Rachmaninov and one of Gershwin rolls being
played on a new piano with a disc player, and I wasn't impressed at
all. I'd much rather hear a Victor [US], Kreutzer, Strad [Canada], or
a larger Aeolian or Beale [Aust.] for sound.

Thanks,
