Seek Ariston Fan Music
By Nicholas Simons

Most people will be familiar with the disc playing Ariston organette
made by Paul Ehrlich of Leipzig. In order to overcome the limitations
of the tune having to be condensed into a single rotation of the disc,
Ehrlich designed, amongst other machines, a fan playing Ariston. This
looks like a conventional Ariston but the music is driven by a rubber
wheel and a pinch roller.

I have been asked to cut some new music for a fan player and am
therefore trying to find some original fan music. I would like to
either borrow the music for copying or receive photo-copies of the
original music. Any reasonable expenses will be covered.

If anyone knows of the location of such a machine, with music, I would
be grateful to be put in touch with the owner. Discretion is assured.
Please contact me off-MMD.

Many thanks,
Nicholas Simons, GB
