Seek J.J. McClellan Piano Roll "Improvisations"
By Dell Urry

I have been asked to find a QRS roll called "Improvisations" or
"Deseret," played by a J.J. McClellan. In the early 1900s he was a
prestigious and prolific organist, professor, and pianist. Elbert
Hubbard, distinguished writer, critic, and traveler, who went down with
the sinking of the Lusitania, claimed that what Paderewski is to the
piano McClellan is to the pipe organ.

McClellan was the Tabernacle organist in Salt Lake City from 1900 to
1925. At some point in his career he arranged and recorded the above
player piano roll. We know quite a bit about him, but are desirous of
obtaining a copy of this roll for a presentation to be given shortly.
If anyone has a copy, we would love to buy it or borrow it to make some
copies.

[ In a posting to the 100502 MMD Jere DeBacker reported that Q.R.S.'s
[ Bob Berkman was looking for the same roll. I wonder whether he ever
  [ found it?
