Lyle Martin is Gone
By Chuck Sorensen

Lyle Martin died of cancer in Santa Barbara, Calif., on August 4, 2010,
at 83 years of age.

He will be remembered in the musical world for his conversion of Link
songs to 88-note format, so that more of us could enjoy Ray Deyo's
arrangements. This was his RX-9 project. His mid-1950 activities
included clandestine recording of the automated musical instruments at
Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm.

Lyle was a self-taught engineer, known for the quality of his designs
and fabrications. Lyle also translated the New Testament from the
original Greek and shared his version with others. Lyle, the brilliant
eccentric, will be missed.
