Seek Wangerin Player Pipe Organ Information
By Tom Hutchinson

Hi MMD, I have recently acquired a 3-rank, 2-manual Wangerin
player pipe organ. The Wangerin pipe organs were made in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin. This organ has the opus number 574 stamped on the chest and
some parts are stamped 570. Do any MMD readers know when this organ
was made, or know if anyone has compiled a history of this company?

I plan on doing a complete restoration. The electronic portion and
MIDIfication is being done by Bill Klinger of Flippin, Arkansas, the
pneumatics by Bob Stout of Independence, Missouri, and the remainder
by me. Bill has already rewired the chest and rebuilt the pedal board,
and I have stripped and repainted the blower.

The Wangerin organ is being integrated into an existing built-in 3-rank
organ; the hope is to have the resulting 6-rank organ playing by the
end of November. I would encourage anyone interested to stop by and
check our progress.
