Auction in Chartres, Sunday, December 5th, 2010
By Denis Lambotte

The traditional auction of mechanical music and automata will take
place in Chartres on Sunday, December 5th, 2010. About 177 items
are for sale, including a large collection of automatas from a
Spanish collector and some singing bird cages by Bontems.

There are many items in mechanical music, among them: an animated
musical picture clock "scène villageoise", a clock stamped "Tharin
à Paris", 13 animated figurines and a small cartel movement inside.
A very rare "cabinet à musique", also called "musique de tea-room"
by l'Epée, with an automata doll on the top, very nice condition,
circa 1900. Many novelties (clock by Robert Houdin, barrel piano,
documentations, etc.)

The catalogue in French is posted in PDF on the MMD web site at
  http://www.mmdigest.com/Gallery/Auctions
and also on a French auction web site at
