Nisco Museum of Mechanical Music in Israel
By Eliyahu Shahar

I visited Nisan Cohen and the Nisco museum in Ein Hod after the
fire. There was indeed significant damage but, in spite of the fact
that 25 of his instruments were burnt beyond repair or recognition,
fortunately his collection was large enough that he still believes
that he can reopen with the instruments that survived.

In light of his optimism, he is now turning to the global community
of collectors in asking for help -- if you have a musical box,
organette or other automatic musical instrument that you would like
to donate, or if you would to help with a monetary donation, he would
be most grateful. You can reach him at

Thanks,
Eli Shahar for Nisan Cohen
