Passing of Walt Bellm
By Greg Lyons

Hello, group. This is Greg Lyons, Walt and Ellen Bellm's eldest
grandson. I am saddened to report that we lost our grandfather,
Walter P. Bellm, long time collector and museum owner and Past
President of the Music Box Society, on the Sunday after Thanksgiving,
November 28, 2010. While the family feels a deep sense of loss, we
all take joy in knowing that grandpa is no longer suffering from his
nursing home bed, and in a much better place.

I appreciate all the kind words many of you have shared over the years,
and you would not believe the looks of joy on the faces of grandpa and
grandma as I shared correspondence from anyone that sent me a message.

If anyone would like to send a message to my grandmother, Ellen Bellm,
you may send a message to me and I will be certain to get the message
to her.

Best wishes,
Greg Lyons

[ In 1965 Walt Bellm acquired Horn's Cars of Yesterday museum in
[ Sarasota, Florida, and changed its name to Bellm's Cars & Music of
[ Yesterday. Bellm was founder and president of Bellm Freight Lines,
[ a trucking company that was based in St. Louis, Missouri, and
[ operated in the Midwest. An active collector of antique cars and
[ music pieces, when he bought the museum he already had a personal
[ collection of more than 20 antique cars. He sold the museum and
 [ auto collection in 1997.
