Bud Hurlbut, amusement park designer and businessman, passed away in
California on Wednesday evening, January 5, 2011.  He was 92.  His wife
predeceased him and they had no children.

Bud designed rides for Knott's Berry Farm and other parks, originating
the Log Flume ride and the Mine Train ride, and in 1976 he opened Castle
Amusement Park in Riverside, California.  He was involved with the
collection of musical instruments at Knott's Berry Farm, and brokered a
deal to have several instruments sold by a friend of his to Disneyland,
where some of them are still displayed.
