Player Action for Wurlitzer Baby Grand
By Bob Loesch

Hello Steve. Congratulations on obtaining a nice piano! If it is
a 1920s piano, the player could have been an Amphion-built player
action, termed "Apollo" by Wurlitzer, who bought the rights to the
"Apollo" name in the 'teens.

I have a similar Wurlitzer/Apollo piano, a 5' baby grand equipped
with an ArtEcho player, which is often seen spelled Art-Echo and Art
Echo in printed literature. The action, because it was built in the
same factory, bears a strong resemblance to an Ampico A action, with
a similar drawer for the Ampico-A-style works, and in fact you might
be able to find an Ampico A action for it.

Art-Echo rolls are rare out here in California (although they might
be more common in the Midwest) so you might be better off making your
action an Ampico. Good luck with it -- it's a nice piano.
