Help with Newer Player Mechanism
By Richard Friedman

Rick Hageman asked in 110214 MMDigest about the replacement vacuum
motor for the modern Aeolian player. Some years ago I had to
replace one on a "Sting" model, and saved the box label (which
I just unearthed, hence the delayed reply) for future reference.

The motor I used was an Ametek Model 115756 2-stage thru-flow
220 volts. The Grainger stock number was 2M182. Armed with this
info, it should be possible to consult with either company and see
if a 110-volt motor with the same dimensions is available.

This motor matched the original; probably even the same make and
model. However, I don't know whether Aeolian used that particular
motor throughout its 25-year production run.
