Another source for lacquer is Nikolas Lacquers.  These are high quality
lacquers available in spray cans.  They have special lacquers for sealing
brass that helps prevent the verdigris that develops when leather comes
in contact with brass valve seats.  It is actually a chemical reaction
with the copper in the brass and the tanning acids in the leather.  It
has plagued gun collectors for years.
