"Klezmerola" Program in Amherst, Mass., 17 July
By Mike Walter

A Pianola invitation from Bob Berkman

Hello MMD friends: On Sunday, July 17, at 2 p.m., I will be
presenting the best-ever "Klezmerola" program of Jewish piano rolls
at the Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, Massachusetts.

Please join me as I share some of the best and rarest Jewish rolls,
plus wonderful PowerPoint images of the unusual people, places, and
things that went into their making over the years. I have a lot to
say about all this, too, which I hope you will find entertaining,
enlightening, amusing, and... poignant.

It appears there's simply no one else to tell the tale of this odd
little corner of Yiddish culture, which I must confess I still find
almost magical. That must be why I happily spent 35 years in a piano
roll factory. I could have been a dentist.

The link for tickets is below. I would love to see you there.

A sheynem dank,
Bob Berkman
