Duo-Art Steamboat Pump Motor Mounting Hardware
By Randy Hammond

I have an upright Steinway Duo-Art, circa 1920, that has a full-fledged
steamboat pump. The problem concerns the leather sling type mounting
of the motor. The motor, although not the one that came with the
piano, is the right two-stage motor and it is extremely heavy.

The problem is that with the current hardware, the leather straps tear
and stretch and as a result, I am going to have to rebuild the motor
again. Someone sent me detailed pictures of how that leather sling
and motor are supposed to be mounted but I have lost that picture.

It would be very helpful if someone can send me close-up pictures of
the motor board, mounting, and proper hardware. The bolts that hold
the straps on my piano are not right.
