MIDI System for Duo-Art Reproducing Piano
By Bob Hunt

[ Ref. 111004 MMDigest, Seek Duo-Art MIDI Conversion System

The Hunt Piano Company manufactures a MIDI e-valve system called
the VirtualRoll. This has been successfully installed in many
Duo-Art grands and at least one Duo-Art upright.

The VirtualRoll works exceptionally well and does not require any
modifications to the instrument into which it is installed other
than "teeing" into the tracker bar tubing for the added e-valves.
This system is described at http://www.virtualroll.com/

The process of scanning the original Duo-Art rolls is described on
Terry Smythe's web site, http://members.shaw.ca/smythe/rebirth
This web site includes links to others pertaining to the general
subject. Quite a few roll scanners have been built, and it might be
possible to find someone near you who could scan your rolls. It is
also likely that many of the rolls in your collection have already
been scanned.

Duo-Art E-Rolls are available on a CD from Spencer Chase at his web
site, http://www.spencerserolls.com/
