After looking at quite a number of pictures of both grand and upright
motors and mounts designed by Ampico, I recalled the one I have in
my Chickering, with top-loading Ampico, which is quite different.

It makes me think that Ampico wasn't satisfied with the quietness
of any of their previous motor mounts so they designed another one.
I can't explain why it works so well at dampening the vibration noise
of the motor, but it sure works great!
