Vacuum Reservoirs Are Different Sizes
By S. Lee Walker

Hello to all, I need help with a AutoPlayer piano with a Simplex
double valve system. The reservoir area is not the same sizes.
The reservoir that runs the air motor is larger in area whereas the
one that runs pneumatic stack is about 2" smaller in length. The
widths are the same.

The picture of the standard player pump in Art Reblitz's book,
"Rebuilding the Player Piano," showed the reservoirs the same size
(illustration 2-20, page 17). Also, the copy of the original manual
which I purchased from J. Tuttle shows both to be the same size.

This piano was built in 1921 and most likely the player has been
rebuilt several times. Would this cause any problem with the vacuum?

I thank you.

Lee Walker
