Seek Service Manual for Wertheim Player Piano
By David Row

Dear friends of Player Pianos, I just read the note by John A. Tuttle
about pianola serive manuals [120316 MMDigest]. I have noticed
something that may have been missed. That is, most of all American
makes of player piano manuals are available from sources like John's
Player-Care. Even Reblitz's book mentions mostly American player
pianos. Nowhere do I find reference to the "English" models.
I could be wrong...

I have a Wertheim made by the Australian Piano factory, Melbourne,
Australia, and am just dying to have its manual.

As a member of the MBSI (America) again I am fully aware most of
their musical boxes are mostly of one (American?) country. I had
a musical box but could not raise a shadow of reference in this
society. Did the English people make music boxes? Oh, I found
a lot of English manuals and books on phonographs and gramophones,
which is my specialty.

Still, I thank both Player-Care and associates and MBSI for their
wonderful collection and information which I find awesome (as in
great!) reading material. Thank you collectors, restorers and hobbyists
for keeping alive the glorious, rich traditions of their countries.

I am 80 years old and have only, of late, had the opportunity to delve
into all things musical and related matters.
