Seek Service Manual for Wertheim Player Piano
By John A. Tuttle

Hi All, Regarding David Row's request [120317 MMDigest], as we
say here in America, "There's more than one way to skin a cat".
(By the way, I'm a cat lover. So don't choke on a fur ball. ;-)

These days, I often get requests from people in non-US countries
who are seeking information about the player mechanisms in their
pianos. While I don't have any service manuals for foreign-made
player systems yet, I do have some data about a few different systems.
Mainly, I have a lot of pictures that are usually sufficient to
figure out basic tubing and parts placement.

Fortunately, all player pianos work on the same basic operating
principles, and once you figure out what a particular component is
suppose to do, hooking it up to the system is generally pretty
straightforward.

So, if you have a system that you can't find via the various 'Systems
Pages' at Player-Care, send me good close-up pictures of the various
components in the system and overall pictures of both the upper and
lower sections, and we'll figure out what's what, and how to hook it
up. (By the way, please limit files sizes to 2 megs, and don't send
more than 4 megs worth of files in a single email.)

Lastly, once we figure out what system is in the piano, that information
will be added to the 'Foreign (non-US) Player Piano Makes & Makers'
page at my web site.

Musically,
John A Tuttle
