Hi, Bob,  Yes, that piano is definitely worth restoring.  I am
surprised a piano of high quality would suffer such a disaster with
the pinblock.  Perhaps it has something to do with the European
climate it was made for not liking the American climate.  Perhaps
it was kept in an ultra-dry space, causing the pinblock problem.

Replacing the pinblock on an upright is harder than on a grand, but
this is one upright that is worth the work, as it is a top quality
instrument all the way, like a Rolls Royce.  If I can be of help in
explaining what is involved, or how to find a competent rebuilder,
please let me know.  Send pictures so we can see it.  Thanks.
