Restoring Symphonion 106N Disc Musical Box
By Peter Trodd

I am restoring a Symphonion 19-1/8" disc musical box, upright cabinet
model 106N, the type with the half turned columns either side on the
front door.

My problem is that the coin drawer is missing, although it appeared
that the coin dropped through the base of the cabinet as there is an
existing slot to accommodate this. I believe there were two types of
coin drawer: sometimes a small one on the right hand side, or one below
similar to the larger Polyphons.

I don't want to add a large, heavy-looking drawer below, as I have seen
in some pictures, and I would like to add a sort of scalloped-out front
panel similar to the pictures on page 229 in Bowers' "Encyclopedia of
Automatic Musical Instruments".

I really need a picture or dimensions of depth, width, etc., and how
it is hidden below the shallow front. Unfortunately, the only pictures
available are front-on only. Can anyone help?
