Aeolian "Sting" Player Piano Troubleshooting
By Rick Hageman

Hi All, As a hobbyist and lover of players, I own an Aeolian Sting.
Granted, it's far from the best, but it fit my budget a few years
back (a divorce will do that). Anyway, I haven't been playing it like
I should and a few days ago I decided to put on a Christmas roll.
I decided to play it manually and on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it
a 5 for pumping efficiency.

However, when I turned on the electric pump, the roll stopped. I could
not get it to play at all -- the roll barely moved. I figured I'd open
Art Reblitz's player restoration book, but I can't find mine. That
being said, can any of you steer me in the right direction?

I did take off one of the lines coming out of the vacuum pump and I did
have some suction, if that will help. Thanks for helping.
