I wonder if anyone can tell me anything about this company, or even
if it ever existed?  I am not talking about the Lockwood Piano company
of Rhode Island (agents for Link pianos in the 1920s), but a company
in London before 1908.  In that year, one H. J. Cullum, trading as
Lockwood's, started selling gramophones and phonographs, and also
manufacturing them (as Perophones).

This business continued into the 1930s, but some accounts say it
had previously been dealing in player pianos, a suggestion for which
I can find no basis.  (There was an associated camera repair business,
H. Vernon & Co, which was later amalgamated when the business became
the Vernon Lockwood Manufacturing Co.)

Was there ever a Mr. Lockwood, or was the name invented?
