Hello -- The old family player piano (which I've coveted since the
age of five) has been recently passed down to me from my grandfather.
It's an upright 1927 Stroud Duo-Art, fully electric -- no pedals --
in pretty serviceable condition.

Sometime in the 1980's, the original electric motor stopped working
and my father installed a modern motor that he scrounged up somewhere,
which has worked fine to this day.  The replacement motor is sitting
on a metal platform that my father fabricated, but I found the original
motor installation parts sitting in the bottom of the case.

My grandfather had the original motor professionally rebuilt but never
got around to re-installing it.  I'd like to install the original
motor, but have no idea how it mounts in the piano.  Any advice on how
to do this (or better yet, a picture) would be greatly appreciated.

I've read some archived MMD postings about motor overheating problems
in the Duo-Art, so I definitely plan on bench-testing the motor prior
to installation.  I have no idea who actually rebuilt the motor and
I doubt if my grandfather remembers, other than it was a repair shop
in Seattle.

One more question: I need to get the piano tuned, and it also appears
that the automatic roll tracking system needs some sort of adjustment.
Does anyone know of a piano technician in the Seattle area that has
experience with the Duo-Art mechanism?

I'm excited to have found the MMD, and am looking forward to getting
my old player back to tip-top condition.  Any advice would be greatly
appreciated.  Thanks!
