Rebuilding Early Ampico A Rotary Pump Valves

I've been looking through the MMD Archives for info on the early
Ampico A rotary pump with the aluminum plate flap valve assembly.
I've found references to the valves but nothing specific as to the
best way to restore them.  Any insight or information would be greatly
appreciated!
