My next project is an early Baldwin player action that came to me
totally disassembled, cleaned and sanded and ready for rebuilding.  
I have a few questions that I hope someone can help me out with.

1. There is no evidence of the original valve pouch material.  Will
standard thin tan pouch leather be appropriate?

2. These early threaded wood pouch buttons have the bleed hole drilled
through the side of them.  That tells me that I will need a hole in 
the pouch leather punched off center to align with the hole in the wood
button.  Is fish glue a good option for the adhesive here?

3. The valve discs are brass and currently have sponge rubber glued to
their face.  I intend to remove the sponge rubber and replace it with
leather but not sure what type to use.  I am thinking patent leather 
on both sides because they close on a metal seat.  Should the leather
be adhered to the brass plate for both the inside and outside faces?

I have reviewed the original Manualo and Reblitz book but I cannot get
a clear enough answer on these issues.  Any help would be much
appreciated.
