Source of Spring Drive Belts
By Mark Kinsler

[ Ref. 130612 MMDigest, Drive Belt for Aeolian Grand Organ

Spring belts were widely used in small movie projectors. Replacements
used to be sold (and may still be sold) by the old Projector-Recorder
Belt Company, a.k.a. PRB, a division of Russell Industries. They still
seem to be in business and apparently sell some stuff through Amazon.

The PRB catalog will be of interest to anyone who works on strange old
audio equipment, though most of their stock seems now to be devoted to
the equally-obsolete video cassette recorder repair trade. They have
belts and needles and rubber idler wheels for everything, and they'll
manufacture you a belt if you can send in the old one. But I don't
know if they still stock spring belts. It might be worth a telephone
call to them; they're in Wisconsin.
