I haven't seen it mentioned here yet, but "La Mattchiche" or
"La Sorella" can also be heard, in part, quoted by George Gershwin
in his "An American in Paris" tone poem.
As to the "My mom gave me a nickel" version, we can hear that sung
by Tootie for some party guests in the movie "Meet Me In St. Louis".
Tootie just loves to scandalize her elders in fairly mild ways that
seldom involve almost killing people. (The Halloween scene with her
is a masterpiece.)
