MIDI File Player Program for Laptop Computer
By Kip Williams

If the laptop is a PC, it's hard to beat VanBasco's Karaoke Player,
which shows a keyboard playing and will show multiple tracks and
words, if desired. For a Mac, I use MIDI Sheet Music, which shows
music staffs and a keyboard. It also works on my Android phone,
and could be good for a PC as well.

I've searched my little old Vaio laptop, and if there was another
program (I seem to recall one that showed a piano roll but was very
clunky), I didn't keep it, which suggests it wasn't all that good.

Other readers sent me links to programs that are useful for creating
sheet music from MIDI files, but I haven't found one lately with the
player piano view. Obviously, such a program would be great fun, and
I'd love to know about it myself.
