Buying Rolls from the USA
By Richard Friedman

I sold items on eBay for years, including the occasional piano roll.
Although my eBay listings made it very clear -- in large, bold type
-- that surface shipping from the USA had been discontinued by order
of the U.S. Postal Service, and that only airmail was available --
there still remained buyers who placed bids without reading the full
description. As with my used book sales on another website, this
resulted in some cancelled orders and/or arguments about shipping
rates; not many, but enough to be very annoying and time-consuming.
Added to that was the ever-increasing aggravations of dealing with
eBay and the U.S. Postal Service.

Although I was and still would be willing to ship to customers outside
the USA, I can understand where some small-time sellers would give up
on that.
