Duo-Art Piano at Wrigley Mansion in Phoenix
By Larry Mayo

Last Sunday, I visited the restaurant in the former Wrigley mansion,
located in Phoenix, Arizona. In the living room sits a 1929 Duo-Art
with a remote cabinet that holds several rolls, any one of which can be
selected remotely. The waiter claimed the piano was "worth millions of
dollars." I laughed, almost involuntarily, and excused myself when the
guy looked puzzled. The piano is shown in this YouTube video:

This instrument seems to have become an urban legend with claims of
value stated as high as 14 million dollars. It, obviously, isn't.
However, what would a reasonable price for this piano be? Supposedly,
the Wrigleys sold the house with the stipulation that the piano stayed
in the house permanently.
