$100 Tablet Computer as MIDI File Player
By Phil Dayson

I have been using such a system without problem to play my "Wine
Bottle Organ". One addition, however -- I have been using an Android
phone to remotely select tunes to be played from the Windows tablet.

The MIDI files on the Windows tablet are played using Windows Media
Player (WMP). Unfortunately you cannot set the default MIDI output
on this program directly but must use a small free program on the PC
to do it. It is called "Vista Midi Fix."

A free or inexpensive program, "Remote for WMP" from Banamalon, is
installed on the PC and the Android phone. It communicates using
a WiFi connection: http://www.banamalon.net/?portfolio=wmp-remote
